Our motto, Sapere Aude— “Dare to be wise” — reflects our commitment to bold thinking and responsible leadership. MUC drives nearly 75% of all publicly sponsored research in New Brunswick and is recognized as Canada's #1 university for research quality in Engineering (Times Higher Education, 2026).

Founded in Fredericton
Mag University Canada opened its doors in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with a bold vision to create an institution where academic rigour meets real-world relevance.
First Graduate Class
Our inaugural cohort of graduates entered the workforce, establishing MUC's reputation for producing skilled, career-ready professionals across Atlantic Canada and beyond.
International Expansion
MUC launched dedicated international programmes and partnerships with over 40 universities worldwide, welcoming students from more than 80 countries.
Knowledge Park Campus
Our state-of-the-art Knowledge Park campus opened at Building Three, featuring modern AI labs, collaborative learning spaces, and expanded student services.

Dr. James Whitfield
President
Dr. Whitfield brings 30 years of academic leadership and a passion for inclusive, research-driven education. He leads MUC's strategic vision and international partnerships.
Dr. Sarah Okonkwo
Provost & VP Academic
Dr. Okonkwo oversees academic planning, curriculum development, and faculty affairs. Her research in educational equity has shaped MUC's inclusive programme design.
Dr. Michael Chen
Dean of Students
