About the Faculty

The Faculty of Education at MUC is the largest faculty of education in Atlantic Canada, training teachers for both the anglophone and francophone school systems of New Brunswick and beyond. Our programs are recognized by the New Brunswick Department of Education and are accepted for teacher certification across Canada.

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) program develops reflective, inclusive, and effective teachers through a combination of pedagogical coursework and substantial practicum placements in real K–12 classrooms. Both elementary and secondary specializations are offered.

At the graduate level, the MEd provides experienced educators with advanced studies in curriculum theory, educational leadership, inclusive education, and second-language pedagogy. MUC is also home to the Second Language Research Institute of Canada (L₂RIC), one of the foremost centres for second-language acquisition research in the country.
