Currie Scholars: The Gift That Shapes Futures
March 28, 2026 · Advancement Office

Where Generosity Meets Opportunity
For many students at Mag University Canada, a scholarship is the difference between a dream deferred and a degree earned. The Currie Scholars programme — funded by a community of alumni and friends — supports promising students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
This year’s cohort of 32 Currie Scholars represents every faculty at MUC, from Nursing and Engineering to the Arts. Each scholar receives renewable funding, mentorship, and a community of peers who share their drive to succeed.
Stories of Impact
"Without this scholarship, I could not have moved to Fredericton to study Nursing," says one 2026 recipient. "It gave me the freedom to focus on my studies instead of worrying about how I would pay for them."
Donors say the rewards run both ways. "Investing in a student is investing in the future of our communities," explains a long-time supporter. "Watching these scholars graduate and give back is the most meaningful thing I do."
A Growing Legacy
Since its founding, the programme has supported hundreds of graduates who now work as teachers, engineers, health professionals, and entrepreneurs across Canada. As MUC grows, so too does its commitment to ensuring that talent — not financial circumstance — determines who can study here.
