Earn Credit for What You Already Know
Mag University Canada's Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 academic year. RPL allows students with documented professional experience, prior learning, or non-formal training to apply for academic credit — potentially shortening programme length and reducing tuition costs.
Who Can Apply
RPL assessment is available to any student enrolled at MUC, or to applicants seeking admission who hold significant relevant work experience. Common eligible areas include:
- Professional certifications (PMP, CPA, CISSP, and others)
- Documented workplace training and performance records
- Prior post-secondary study at non-accredited institutions
- Formal apprenticeship and trades training
- Military or government service experience
How the RPL Process Works
Students submit an RPL application through the MyMUC portal, along with supporting evidence (portfolio, employer letters, certificates, transcripts). A faculty assessor evaluates the submission against specific programme learning outcomes. Decisions are typically delivered within 6–8 weeks of a complete application.
RPL credit can apply toward electives, general education requirements, or — where evidence is particularly strong — core programme courses.
Application Deadline
RPL applications for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 semesters must be submitted by July 31, 2025. Applications received after this date will be considered for the following intake.
Visit the RPL Portal through your MyMUC account or contact rpl@maguni.ca for more information.
